Now that we are nearing Christmas and the cold season, let’s think back to the warm sunny August, the best time for the Fort Worth Stockyards. More specifically the art competition and Ayannis’s amazing art piece blew everyone away, showing how many skilled artists there are.
At the 2022 Fort Worth Stockyard 6th grader Ayannis put her art piece in the competition and was hoping for the best. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to place in the top 7 but was able to experience the wonders of the Fort Worth Stockyards.
“But looking at the others I do deserve the place that I got,” said Ayannis showing that the competitors can be tough.
Even though not everyone can make the #1 spot there is a hefty amount of work put into everything entered into the Fort Worth Stockyards. For example, Ayannis said “Making my art piece was very difficult. I could not do anything with a pencil and I was struggling because I didn’t know what to do,” showing that effort can be put into everything, especially in art.
In addition to effort, there needs to be a sense of bravery put into trying something new and being vulnerable to failing. Bravery was showcased beautifully by Ayannis when she revealed what influenced her. “Being able to get my skills because I had no pencil skills.”
On top of these characteristics to win any award, time has to be focused on the most. This cannot only be shown by Ayannis but many winning athletes, actors, and performers. An example can be said by Ayannis, “I was into art since I could pick up a pencil in Pre-K and when I could start to draw.”
