This year the choir program added student officers to help grow the choir. Choir director Kristen Pritchett’s goal is to build a choir culture that not only excels in music but also develops strong character.
“I want our students to feel empowered as leaders within our school community,” Pritchett said.
Officer positions include President, Vice President, Social Chair, a boys representative, secretary, historian, and attendance clerks. Koryn Aldas, Callee Lasher, and London Sustala make up the choir officers’ line-up with Shepard Wood as the boy’s representative.
“I love choir and I love all the people in it and if I got to represent choir it just made me really happy,” 8th Grader Choir President Callee Lasher said.
“I thought that I would like to lead the choir and help them excel in their work,” 8th grade Vice President London Sustala said.
Koryn’s creativity shines as she plans the choir’s social events, like the fall celebration. She’s dedicated to fostering a family atmosphere, keeping spirits high and students connected.
” I really love choir and I wanted to help out as much as I can,” 8th grader Social Chair Koryn Aldas said.
The role of boys representative was created to ensure everyone feels represented in choir. Wood is a fantastic advocate for the young men, supporting them and lending his voice to the men’s choir. He’s also a tremendous help during concerts.
“Because my high school sister in the choir she is the best and I just want to make her proud by being good in choir and getting the position and being the best I can be,” 7th grade boys representative Shepard Wood said.
