The announcement was made, The University of Texas at Arlington was going to be in Aledo. UTA is a public university with nine current campuses. It is building UTA West, its newest addition, at the intersection of I-20 and I-30.
Many people are concerned that this will affect Aledo’s population and school district.
“I feel like a lot of kids can go there since it is so close, and they will get many students,” 8th grader Emily Garcia said.
The new west campus is close for Parker county students who might choose to stay close to home for college.
“I would go to this school since it is so close to home, and I could get many good scholarships,” 8th grader Teagan Olea said.
