Uh oh! During the fall play, Mrs. Benoit is lecturing her actors. After 2 hours of practing, the actors backstage won’t stop talking at almost every rehearsal, and it gets on Mrs.Benoit’s nerves. “Mrs. Benoit’s lectures were mostly about us talking too much backstage,” said 8th grader Scout Newman.

Morning Routine. Spending her morning in the 8th-grade hallway, 8th-grader Alexa Elmore scrolls through her phone. Elmore normally gets to school around 8:15 and hangs out with her friends. We should be allowed to be in other places than the hallway, Alexa said, if we could be in the cafeteria, we would have plenty of space and not have to be clumped into one tiny hallway.

On your marks. Placing her foot behind the starting line, 8th grader XC runner, Avery Jeter takes a deep breath. Her first ever XC meet of the season, a 2 mile-long run held at Azle.  When I put my foot on the starting line thats when it hit me that this was my first meet of the season and I wanted to do great. Said 8th grader, Avery Jeter. I needed to be confident in myself in order to do good.

Scrumptious rolls.  On the opposite side of the lunch line, Benson spends her time either making new meatball subs or communicating to students.  Benson and other lunchladys collaborate with AMS to plan meals together and boost each other.  The meals are good in taste and in quality, Benson said.

Did you hear that? 8th Grade A-team player Charlotte Gartner is serving to score the last few points in the game. This was their last game against Everman and the final score was 25-8 the first set, and 25-6 the second. This was such an amazing season. We are such a talented group and seeing us get even better was amazing, Gartner said.
