Walking into the cafeteria in the morning, everyone is looking down at their phones, yelling at their phone, cheering at their phone, and even crying at their phones. But what’s going on? They can’t all be doing the same thing, no way! But they are, and it’s the most engrossing game everyone is addicted to. To no ones surprise, the game is Block Blast. Block Blast, one of the most popular games here at MMS. Why is it so common? Why is it so addicting? Some play for popularity, others for themselves, but everyone plays.
“It cures my boredom and its fun and relaxing,” 8th grader Cameron Beville said.
100% of students interviewed said they downloaded Block Blast because it was popular—but they kept it because they genuinely enjoyed playing. While students love the game, it raises the question: at what cost? Some admit to playing up to six times a day.
“I get annoyed by block blast when it doesn’t give me all pink blocks or makes me die for no reason,” Beville said.
All in all, Block Blast has many opinions that are so worth sharing. Students at MMS have been playing Block Blast all year.
“It’s a puzzle, and who doesn’t like puzzle games?,” 8th grader Caleb Connely said.
While some students find block blast extremely easy, others find it a large challenge
“I think Block Blast is a pretty hard game once it gets past 15, 000,” Connely said.
