Students in UIL competition.
On March 9-10, UIL was held at McAnally Middle School. After a long time of preparation, the student’s hard work has finally paid off. With all the hard work done, they can finally enjoy themselves at the competition.
“Even though it was my first time, it was fun,” Ayaan Sarma said.
Mr. Kohn, the chess coach from a different school, has fun coaching chess.
“I get to introduce kids to chess and help them improve. Not only is UIL fun but it helps you learn too,” Kohn said.
“UIL opens me to new information I wouldn’t have learned otherwise,” Sarma said.

![Run Like The Wind! Maddox Murry (8th) runs at a cross country meet on September 25. He ran his hardest, and just locked in, just like at every meet. “My brain just stops and my body just operates itself and somehow navigates [itself] like autopilot,” Murry said.](https://mmsrewind.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Screenshot-2025-02-26-11.35.51-AM.png)
