Some people might say that my hair is brunette, but I would disagree with this statement. My hair has always had low eumelanin (a pigment that affects hair color) since I was little, although it has gotten darker as I’ve grown older. Once in a while, I ask my friends what color they think my hair is, and they usually respond by saying brown.
To determine a person’s hair color, you can look at a hair color chart. On this chart, there are many different shades ranging from black to the lightest blonde. Based on this scale, my hair falls around a level 7, which is considered dark blonde. Some parts of my hair may appear closer to brown than blonde, but overall, this shade is known as dirty blonde.
