School should allow open cans because they’re worried about spills, but if you ask me, we’re gonna spill more drinks trying to hide them. In middle school, most students drink energy drinks or sodas, but as of the 2025-2026 school year, they have been banned. Even though they’re banned, most students don’t follow this rule as they think it’s unreasonable. Most teachers get mad and tell you to throw them away, but throwing something away that you spent your own money on is wasteful. So, most students will hide them in their bag or with a friend. When they hide them, they are more likely gonna spill them rather than them sitting on a desk. Teachers say stuff like, “they should follow the rules then” or “don’t drink them during class,” but most students are way too tired in the morning and drink an energy drink at school to wake up. They should be allowed during class so students can wake up, so they can focus more on school work. Teachers constantly telling them to throw them away is gonna cause them to try and hide them at all times, and be sneaky or scared of teachers finding out. A student drinking an energy drink during class to last the 8 long hours of hard school work should be allowed, instead of us dosing off because we don’t get much sleep and usually turn to caffeine. I get most teachers think they’re bad and not welcome in school, but in the end, if students bring them, they should be aloud and not forced to throw them away.
