7th, 6th, and 8th graders came together in interviews to talk about how some students enjoy watching March Madness with their family and friends and how they grew up watching it over the years. Overall, students loved sharing how much they enjoyed March Madness.
7th grader Brin Snider said, “My favorite basketball team that was not in March Madness was the Lakers because my family watches them, and my favorite person on the team would be LeBron James because he is the best player on the team.” Unlike other seasons, this is the season when teams play to see who is better and show the excitement of people watching or being there.
8th grader Trenton Outland said, “My favorite basketball team was Duke, and they were in March Madness. My favorite player on the team is Jack Scott, and an underrated person on the team is Cameron Sheffield.” Overall, students loved watching men’s March Madness. Students also loved watching women’s March Madness. Narayra Rojas enjoyed talking about how she loved watching women’s basketball.
7th grader Narayra Rojas said that she likes the Texas Tech girls basketball team, and her favorite player on the team is Stephanie Okechukwu. She also said the most underrated person on the girls basketball team was Gemma Núñez.
