On Wednesday, October 15, the atmosphere was electric as the AMS and MMS 8th-grade football teams faced off in what promised to be the biggest game of the season. Both schools brought their A-game, and the competition was fierce from the very start.
“I’m a little nervous, but I’m excited to play against my friends,”8th grade A-team player Brock Evans said. A-team played a tough game but lost. They had practiced hard, and the friendly competition made the match even more exciting. During the game, A-team faced a strong opponent, AMS. They put in a lot of effort, showed great teamwork, and made some good plays. However, despite their hard work and dedication, they ended up losing the game with a score of 21-0.
7th-grade B team pulled off an impressive victory against AMS, stunning everyone with a score of 19-12. Mav Hamilton, one of B-team’s players, shared his thoughts after the game.
“We all thought we wouldn’t win because 7th grade has never beaten AMS,” Hamilton said.
Every player contributed to the effort, displaying teamwork and skill that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats. This victory not only marked a significant milestone for the team but also boosted their confidence.
As 8th-grade C-teams’ game progressed, the tension rose. The game remained scoreless for most of the time, with each possession into hard-fought yards. Finally, in a pivotal moment that would shape the game’s outcome, MMS secured a safety, taking them to a narrow lead. The final score stood at 2-0, a testament to the incredible efforts of both teams.
“We were confident at first, and we kept that mindset throughout the game,” Adam Rivera said.
In the end, MMS fought really hard against AMS despite some of our losses. Our teams still put in hard work and dedicated their time to beat AMS. Our teams fought for a victory, and AMS also put up a good fight. This game was one of our toughest, and both teams played outstandingly.
